Working with the House Foreign Affairs Committee was an amazing experience that really opened my eyes to the way technology and politics can intersect. I had the unique opportunity to develop a voting software for pocket pcs and a desktop application to manage speakers during hearings. It was a bit like juggling, trying to balance the specific technical requirements of a government setting with the general user-friendliness that made the software truly useful. But the end result was so gratifying! The software I developed directly impacted the operations of hearings and law-passing processes. To know that the work I did contributed to the smooth running of our nation's legislative process was a true honor.
