Working at the American Humane Association was such a unique experience. As a Web Developer and IT Liaison, my role was a blend of technology and heart. I was right there in the trenches, maintaining and developing web applications that served the noble cause of promoting the well-being of animals and children. One of my proudest accomplishments was hand-coding the websites for the Hero Dog Awards and Hero Vet Awards, which are voting applications. It wasn't just about writing lines of code; it was about contributing to a cause I believe in. The work was challenging, but seeing how it directly impacted and contributed to the organization's mission made it all worthwhile. This role really deepened my understanding of how technology can be used for the greater good.
